A Sacred Opportunity Before Us

For more than 175 years, Historic Santa Claus Campground has been a sacred place of sanctuary, renewal, and encounter. Across generations, people of all ages have come here to experience the love of God, grow in faith, and discover that Christ walks with them through every season of life. HSCC stands today because faithful believers gave generously and sacrificially so that others might know Jesus too.

Today, we have the opportunity to carry that legacy forward. This is a season of renewal and restoration, a time to honor the past while preparing this sacred place for a vibrant future of ministry.

Many who care deeply about HSCC carry meaningful stories shaped on these grounds. For some, this is where faith first took root. For others, it is where God brought renewed clarity, deeper commitment, and lasting Christian community. Through camps, retreats, worship, and shared experiences, HSCC continues to help shape lives and make disciples of Jesus.

Your support helping us reach our goal will sustain that mission and expand its reach for the generations ahead. We invite you to join us in prayer and generosity as we strengthen the ministry, hospitality, and sacred spaces that make Historic Santa Claus Campground so meaningful.

When Opportunity and Vision Align

We have launched a capital campaign to renew and strengthen the spaces where lives are changed through faith, fellowship, and fun. This effort will prepare the Historic Santa Claus Campground to serve future generations with greater capacity, purpose, and impact.

Our $4.65 M (million) capital campaign goal is within reach. Thanks to Lilly Endowment Inc. grants ($1.76 M) and early generous donors ($1.89 M), we have already funded and started several exciting projects. We invite you to help complete the final $1 million to expand the HSCC mission!

We move forward not because of crisis, but because of calling —embracing stewardship today so the next generation can flourish tomorrow.

Foundations of Faith, Fellowship, and Fun

$3.48 M – Revitalize and strengthen the spaces at the heart of camp life where people gather most often to experience God’s presence— including the Dining Hall, Tabernacle, and Lakeside Pavilion.

Stewarding the Legacy

$220 K – Care for the campground’s long-term health and beauty by renewing the natural canopy with mature shade trees while also strengthening the financial sustainability of HSCC through maintenance resources and endowment support that will continue to make camp affordable.

Next Generation Adventures

$150 K – Create new spaces for joyful connection and play through the addition of a playground and sound garden and new sports courts, ensuring the next generation experiences the same fellowship, fun, and lifelong memories that have defined camp for generations.

Stretch Goal - Expanding the Mission

$800 K – Increase the camp’s capacity and capability to serve more people— new cabins, scholarship resources, and expanding the camp’s reach through improved website and social media outreach.

The opportunity before us is not simply to improve buildings, but to strengthen this holy ground where lives are changed— and where the next generation will come to know Christ, grow in faith, and carry that impact far beyond these grounds.

Dining Hall

A new dining facility significantly expands seating capacity, allowing the camp to serve larger groups and eliminate current space limitations during meals. By reducing crowding and improving flow, it creates a more comfortable and relational environment where campers can connect, support one another, and build community. The flexibility gained also allows existing space to be repurposed for worship and activities, strengthening the overall camp experience.

Lakeside Pavilion

Adding a new lakeside gathering space enhances the lake experience by providing comfort and accessibility for extended time outdoors. With restrooms, shaded seating, and nearby refreshments, campers can enjoy activities like swimming, canoeing, and fishing without interruption. The pavilion creates new opportunities for connection and faith-centered experiences in a beautiful setting.

Tabernacle Restoration

Preserving the spiritual heart of the campground, these improvements enhance safety and usability—ensuring the Tabernacle remains the central gathering place for worship. Updated flooring and structural repairs create a safer environment, while added weather protection allows services to continue in seasonal conditions. These improvements strengthen a space that has anchored camp life for more than 140 years, allowing worship and shared moments of faith for generations to come.

Legacy Measures for the NEXT 100 Years

Establishing a foundational pathway for long-term stewardship through maintenance support and endowment resources. This helps ensure the grounds remain beautiful, functional, and cared for (as they have been for generations), while supporting the ability to keep camper registration fees affordable with life-changing impact for years to come.

Playground, Sound Garden & Sports Courts

New sports courts, a sound garden, and expanded play areas create more opportunities for recreation, creativity, and connection. These additions support camping’s most popular activities while inviting broader participation, helping every camper engage and experience the joy of camp.

Stretch Goal – New Cabins & Renovations

Expanding capacity and improving the camper experience, new and updated lodging spaces allow more individuals to attend while strengthening supervision and safety. Designed for both summer programs and year-round retreats, they better align housing with gathering spaces and create a more welcoming environment for connection, growth, and faith development.

Consider Your Opportunity to be part of what God is doing here.

The opportunity before us is both simple and significant—to care for what has been entrusted to us and to prepare the way for those who will come after us. Through this campaign, we are renewing the spaces where lives are changed, expanding our ability to serve, and strengthening the foundation of this ministry for generations to come.
